What's for dinner?

Picture is courtesy of Skinnytaste.com

On my journey of healthy eating, I've been trying to find recipes that my family will also enjoy.  This proves to be a challenge because 2 of my family members do not like anything healthy.  I have to hide healthy stuff in their food. It makes a little extra work for me, but it's worth it.  Every once in a while I find a gem that is both fun and healthy for us.

With that being said, here is what I'm making for dinner. I'm going to serve the mozzarella sticks as a side with salad being the main dish.  Well, it will be the main dish for me.  I have a feeling the green stuff will get kind of ignored tonight, but I have to give it a shot, right?

If you want to make the mozzarella sticks, don't forget to also make the marinara sauce that goes with it.

So what will be on your table tonight?

I'm on a mission!

I wanted to write an update since I got real with ya a couple of weeks ago.  Last week I joined Weight Watchers.  I know my weakness and the fact that I need some sort of accountability to stick with a weight loss/healthy lifestyle plan.  I was a part of WW about 5 years ago and had great success.  But much like the stories you've heard, I stopped going and my weight crept back up and brought a few friends with it.

I did some research because I heard that Weight Watchers had a new PointsPlus program.  My only beef with the "old" WW was that they used a lot of non-fat and sugar-free stuff.  At the time, I didn't have a problem with that.  But now that I'm older and wiser, I realize how bad FF and SF stuff is for you.  There are so many chemicals injected into FF stuff to give it some flavor.  It wasn't worth it to me to lose weight, and at the same time, shove a bunch of chemicals into my body.  The new PointsPlus program is geared much more to a natural and clean eating lifestyle.  I was happy about this.  It's adaptable to the kind of lifestyle I want to maintain.

With all of that being said, last week I lost 6.2 pounds!!  Wooo hoooo!!!  You may be wondering if that's healthy, but let me tell you, I have radically changed my eating habits.  Lots of lean proteins and veggies.  And lots of water!  I realize that won't happen every week (and it shouldn't) but it was a great way to kick off my new healthy lifestyle!  It's been a lot of fun.  I realized that I had to want the change bad enough to make it happen, and that's what I'm doing.

The key for me is PLANNING!  I have to plan what I'm going to eat and have things available to me (ie. keeping my kitchen stocked with healthy food).  I told my husband that he and the kids are just going to have to start eating healthy too.  I am NOT making two different meals. He actually agreed.

I found some helpful blogs/websites that have WW recipes (with the points already calculated).  I've gotten some great meal ideas from these three websites:

My mission for today, you ask?  To find a flippin' sports bra!!!  This has been a challenge for me.  My friend Amanda suggested the Champion Jog Bra.  I think they sell those at Macy's and Kohl's.  They also sell them on-line, but I have to try my bras on before I buy them.

I was browsing Kohl's on-line and found this video to help find your actual bra size.  Apparently, about 80% of women are wearing the wrong size and don't even know it.  Don't be that woman anymore! :D  Find your true size.  Watch this.

So what are you going on this lovely Saturday morning?

Notice anything different?  Yeah?!  Whaddya think?  I'm still not sure about the look.  I'm still trying it out.  I will be making some more changes, moving stuff around.  But this is it for now.

I also liked this background:

Very Springy, don't you think?  Which do you like better?

I've been having some formatting issues with Blogger lately. I attach links and they don't work.  I'm not doing anything different, it's just not working.  I was thinking about moving over to WordPress, but I am not a computer genius and had a hard time navigating around their blog set up.  Blogger is definitely easy to use, but somewhat limited in their options for certain things.

Anywho, I think I'll stick around here for a while.  I'd love to have a website, but really, it's not like I'm a booming blogger.  That would just be a waste of money for me.  Plus, I don't know much about creating websites.  SO, my options are limited.

I have a few updates, but I have to go get dinner started so I'll update you later.
